Antimicrobial biocides are used to disinfect, sterilize and mitigate microbe growth on surfaces and equipment. It is important to be thorough when applying biocides to ensure you are removing the intended microbes.
Process Steps:
Clean the surface
1. Clean the surface
First clean the surface using detergent/soap, water, clean cloth/brush and scrub to remove dirt and organic matter before applying a biocide.

This will ensure the biocide is able to come into contact with the microbes when applied.
2. Rinse
Using clean water and a clean cloth remove the detergent/soap from the surface.
3. Apply biocide
Apply the biocide with a spray bottle or immerse the object in the biocide for the correct amount of time.

Please note:
  • Wear gloves and wash hands afterwards.
  • Biocides should only be used on non-porous surfaces.
  • The effectiveness of biocides are dependent on concentration and contact time.
  • Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the product.
