Follow this process in order to set up a containment that will keep the rest of the property safe while you work to dry out or clean up an area. This containment is an area where you can manipulate and control temperature, humidity and airflow. This promotes efficient evaporation and allows for control of any potential contaminants.
Process Steps:
Place salvageable furnishings inside the containment
1. Place salvageable furnishings inside the containment
The best place for wet but salvageable furnishings is inside the containment - they'll dry along with the structure.
2. Pay attention to doors within and around the containment
3. Measure and cut plastic
Make sure to leave 6" extra on each side.
4. Attach the plastic to the pole
This is done by sandwiching the plastic between the head of the pole and the non-skid plate.
5. Raise the pole to the ceiling
6. Tuck the plastic under the bottom of the pole
7. Repeat Steps 4-6 until all poles are in place
8. Use foam rails to seal plastic against walls, ceiling and floor
9. Create an entryway into the containment
10. Set up a negative air system to make your containment most effective
Exhaust air from inside the containment with an air filtration device, while making sure that barriers restrict airflow elsewhere.
