KnowHow, owned and operated by Manifest Labs Inc. (referred to as “KnowHow”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), provides cloud-based software solutions. This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our website located at https://tryknowhow.com/ (the “website”), any related subdomains, the KnowHow mobile application available on various platforms (the “app”) and associated services (collectively referred to as the “services”).


At KnowHow, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. 

Throughout this Privacy Policy, “KnowHow,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Manifest Labs Inc., located at Suite 2400, 525 8 Ave SW, Calgary AB, Canada, T2P 1G1. The terms “you” or “your” refer to you, the user. 

1. AGE RESTRICTION 

To use our services, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. By accessing and using the website, app, or any associated services, you confirm that you meet this requirement and agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

KnowHow does not intentionally gather Personal Information (defined in Collection and Use of Information below) from visitors who are under the age of thirteen (13). If you are under the age of thirteen (13), please do not provide any personal information to us. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a visitor under the age of thirteen (13) without appropriate consent, we will promptly delete it from our records.

2. COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION

At KnowHow, we collect certain information to provide you with our services, enhance your user experience, and communicate with you effectively. Some of this information may constitute your personal information. We may gather various types of information about you through different means, including but not limited to:

  • Account information (including your username, password, and other credentials used to access our services).

  • Registration data (such as your full name, phone number, and email address, which you provide when registering an account with KnowHow). 
  • Content uploads (you have the ability to upload photos, notes, and other content to the website, app and services, such as photos and descriptions of jobs you have completed. The content you make may be accessible to us). 
  • Logs. Our servers automatically record information created by your use of the services to help diagnose and fix technical issues and improve the overall quality and user experience of our services. Logs may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, details of how you used the services (such as the functions you asked our services to perform), diagnostic information related to the services (such as crash activity reports), the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, search terms, and cookie information. 
  • Cookies. We use technologies like cookies and pixel tags to gather information about how you interact with the services. 
  • Employee and contractor candidate information. When we seek candidates for potential jobs or contracting engagements with KnowHow, we collect information that those candidates choose to provide to us when applying, which may include contact information, education and employment history, credentials, place of residence, and other information the candidate believes to be relevant. For people who become our employees or contractors, we will typically retain the information provided by those candidates in the application process along with additional information to manage their employment or contractor relationship with us, including, without limitation, information related to income tax reporting and withholding and enrollment in KnowHow benefit plans (in each case, to the extent applicable for the relevant relationship). 
  • Marketing information. From time to time, we may conduct surveys or hold contests or other events, and in connection with such surveys, contests, or events, we may collect information you elect to provide about yourself, such as your name, email address, telephone number, organization name and address, and general information about the company you work for. In addition, we may use third-party service providers to collect business-related information about your employer, such as its name, size, and publicly available revenue, in connection with potentially offering the services to your employer.

In addition, KnowHow may gather anonymized data derived from user interactions, such as search queries and system usage patterns. This anonymized data may be shared with KnowHow vendor partners to assist in enhancing KnowHow's service offerings. These collaborative efforts aim to refine content libraries and optimize system templates, contributing to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of KnowHow services.

We use the personal information we collect about you strictly for the following purposes:

  • Providing and maintaining services. We use your information to deliver the services you request, including creating and managing your account, processing transactions, and providing customer support. 
  • Communication with you. We may use your contact information to communicate with you about your user account, provide updates, send notifications, and deliver administrative messages related to our services.

Third-Party Service Providers. KnowHow may disclose your personal information to carefully selected third-party service providers who assist us in providing and maintaining our services. Upon receiving a verifiable request, we will delete your personal information from our records and direct our service providers to do the same, unless an exception applies.

Right to Opt-Out. KnowHow does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary value. However, we may share personal information with third-party service providers for business purposes.

Non-Discrimination. KnowHow will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, or provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services for exercising your CCPA rights.

To exercise your rights under CCPA, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by contacting us at support@tryknowhow.com. We will respond to your request within 45 days of receiving it, unless we need additional time, in which case we will notify you.

We will verify the identity of the individual making a request. This may involve matching the information provided in the request to the information we already maintain about you.

8. CANADIAN DATA PROTECTION LAW COMPLIANCE

KnowHow is committed to complying with Canadian data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We are committed to safeguarding the personal information of our users and adhere to the principles outlined in PIPEDA regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

KnowHow retains personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. You can choose to sign in or create an account with KnowHow using your existing social media profiles like Google or other we support. This eliminates the need to set up a separate login for our services. 

If you're already logged into your social media account on this device, you might see a prompt to seamlessly connect your profiles. This simplifies the login process. When you sign in with a social media account (social networking services or SNSs), you authorize our service to access certain information associated with your profile. This information typically includes your name, profile picture, and friend list, but it depends on what permissions you've granted in your social media settings. Remember, by using this option, you agree to the terms of service for both our platform and the social media service you're using to sign in.

12. AMENDMENT OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY 

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we decide to make any material changes to this Privacy Policy in the future, including how we use your personal information, we will send you an email or in-app notification.

Any non-material change (such as clarifications) to this Privacy Policy will become effective on the date the change is posted, and any material changes will become effective 30 days from their posting on the website, unless expressly acknowledged by you at an earlier date.
